The daily publication Business Standard quotes Razvan Rusu, Head of Investments at Aviva Investors Romania, who expresses his views on the evolution of capital markets and on the number of clients attracted by mutual funds in the last period: "It is possible to have significant corrections in all markets across the world. The few additional dozens of investors in mutual funds highlighted by statistics are not actually new, but they are among the people who invest and redeem from funds according to current trends." The daily publication Romania Libera performs an analysis of the Romanian mutual fund market, outlining that "the performer in its category, but also compared to the rest of the results in the market is Orizont", reffering to the open-end bond fund Aviva Investors Orizont. The newspaper adds that "the managers at Aviva Investors can be proud of their 18.4% performance, significantly higher than wha any individual deponent could have obtained on their own". The daily publication Business Standard performs an analysis of the evolution of the mutual fun market in Romania in the last year and concludes that "Aviva Investors (AI) Orizont is the best performing fund in teh market, with 18.1%"(performance valid for the last 12 months, from May 31st 2009). The fund performance is explained by Razvan Rusu, Head of Investments at Aviva Investors Romania, who details: "We have rapidly adjusted the portfolio management, focusing on bank deposits in the period in which the interest rates were high. Also, we bought bonds when the prices were attractive through very good discounts."
Daniela Vasile, Private Portfolio Superviser at Aviva Investors Romania draws attention to the defficiencies within the mutual fund distribution system: "We are facing situations in which investors wish to invest in the funds that we manage and therefore, go to our distributing banks, but there, they are "redirected" by bank employees towards their own funds, including through the use of wrong information and estimates." Read the entire article.

Ziarul Financiar reveals in an article today that "Orizont, the bond fund managed by Aviva Investors was the best performigng mutual fund in the first trimester, with a performance of nearly 7%". The article quotes Razvan Rusu, head of investments at Aviva Investors Romania, who motivates the growth: "In the first trimester of this year, we focuses on bonds and bank deposits, which have attracted each around 50% of the fund's assets."
